Support and Safeguarding

Children’s support and safeguarding teams complete work with children who are subject to child protection plans, child-in-need plans and Public Law Outline/initial care proceedings. They also support multi-agency practice in completing pre-birth and parenting assessments and work with adolescents focusing on contextualised safeguarding.

Many of these frontline teams already have reduced caseloads; we are committed to reducing caseloads to a manageable level in all teams however, and to that end staff are now supported not only by business support colleagues, but also advanced practitioners, dedicated to supporting social workers specifically with complex cases and ensuring excellence in practice.

What does the job involve?

To deliver and provide social work services, at a level appropriate for a professionally qualified post, to young people and families to ensure the welfare of children and young people is safeguarded and they are protected in accordance with the legal and statutory obligations of North and West Northamptonshire Council's.

Current opportunities

Social worker (Kettering, Northampton, Wellingborough, Daventry and Corby 0.5 FTE)

Up to £36,597 per year - plus £4,000 welcome bonus and £8,000 towards relocation.

Senior social worker

Salary up to £40,419 per year - plus £3,000 recruitment bonus and £8,000 towards relocation

Advanced practitioner (Northampton, Daventry and Kettering) 

Up to £43,273 per year - plus £3,000 welcome bonus and £8,000 towards relocation.

Team manager (Northampton and Daventry) 

Up to £53,494 per year - plus £2,200 welcome bonus and £8,000 towards relocation.

Service Manager (Kettering and Wellingborough)

Salary from £50,795 plus benefits
