Adoption and children's homes

Our adoption service places children with famillies. We have a lot of experience in matching children and adopters. Our children's homes provide ​residential care for looked after children.

In our adoption service and residential homes, we strive to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

The adoption service recruit and assess prospective adopters, through to their approval at panel. They work closely with the children's social work team to match children and young people with adopters. The team also provide training and support to all adopters.

We have five children's homes in the county, providing a safe and secure environment for looked after children.

What does the job involve?

To deliver and provide social work services, at a level appropriate for a professionally qualified post, to young people and families to ensure the welfare of children and young people is safeguarded and they are protected in accordance with the legal and statutory obligations of Northamptonshire County Council.

Senior Social worker

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and creative senior social worker to join our post adoption and special guardianship order (SGO) Support team.

In this exciting role you will support adoptive families and families subject to SGO who are requesting support. You will be part of a busy, supportive county-wide team with a learning culture who are determined to provide effective assessments of need and support to families.

You will carry the most complex cases in the team and offer support and mentoring to other social workers in the team and represent the team at practice forums within the trust.

Salary up to £40,419 per year plus up to £8,000 towards relocation.
