There are more than 1000 children and young people in care in Northamptonshire and they all need and deserve a loving, caring and supportive home.

By adopting or fostering with Northamptonshire Children's Trust, you can make a real difference to young people lives. Some require short stays in foster care, whilst others require permanent care by either adoption of fostering.

You can find out more about the difference between adoption, fostering and family link using the links below to find out which could be right for you. We look forward to hearing from you.

  • Adoption

Adoption offers children an opportunity to live happy, healthy, fulfilling lives with their new families. It is a permanent and life-long commitment to a child. It’s also the chance for you, as an adoptive parent, to begin, add to or complete a family of your own.

  • Fostering

Fostering is when children who aren’t able to live with their birth families are placed in safe, nurturing and loving family home on a temporary or long term basis. We offer many different sorts of fostering to suit the needs of the children and young people in our care.

  • Family Link carers

Our Family Link service provides short breaks for children and young people with a disability for anything from a few hours at a time, to a few days a month depending on the child’s needs. This gives them valuable time to spend with others, and a break for their family from the everyday responsibilities of caring for them.
